Two Mares Needing A Home

Monday, September 11th, 2006

I recently received this e-mail from a reader:

“I own two horses in northern California, both of whom I can no longer ride nor provide them with the attention they need due to my being located long-term here in Hawaii. Both are mares; one is a 15 yr old Polish Arab, the other a 14 yr old Mustang I rescued. I am looking for a farm/ranch in Northern California where I may be able to donate them so that they can both live out their lives peacefully. Would you know of a facility or organization that may be able to accommodate them?”

I wanted to post the message on the blog to see if anyone knew of a way to accommodate. Perhaps you know of a facility that takes horses as a donation, or you are interested providing a home for them yourself.
