Product Review – Rhythm Beads

Before I even begin to get into how great Rhythm Beads are for a horse’s mind, do you see how gorgeous they are? I mean I never would have dreamed that I would have such a beautiful piece of jewelry for an animal.  You know Perry is feeling beautiful when she wears her necklace.

When I received my package of Rhythm Beads from Betty at rhythmbeads.com I was so excited.  Cristino was probably even more excited than I was.  He heard the bells and his eyes opened wide.  They had such an aura or a feeling that came with them that was so positive.

I took the gemstone rhythm beads to the barn to put them through a battery of tests.  The first thing that happened when we got to the barn, the girls stole them from me and put them on my Dad.  He was walking around jingling with his necklace, which was pretty funny.  I told him Rachel Zoe couldn’t have styled him better herself!

I chose the Amethyst MIst Gemstone Rhythm Beads We tested them on Perry because she has some problems with stiffness, and stress and when that happens she is not her normal self.  She also has a few problems with her white leg.  According to the description amethyst has healing properties and is great for stress so to me it sounded like just what the doctor ordered.  Amethyst is also my birthstone so that was another positive for me.

The minute I placed those beads on Perry she dropped her head and relaxed.  It was that dramatic of a change.  I couldn’t believe it I had to try it on the other horses.  It seemed to have the same effect for each one of them.  The funny thing was, I never had to get them used to the sound of the bells, they were not afraid for one second, even the more skittish horses.

I thought it was really cute when the horses would try and stay in rhythm when working too.  They try and stay more consistent in their gaits so that they can move in rhythm with their beads, it’s pretty amazing.

Another absolutely wonderful thing I found about the beads.  They are brilliant for trail rides!  I took Perry out on a trail ride and I noticed that ground hogs were scurrying into their holes way before we reached them.  The rhythm beads served as a warning and I didn’t have to worry about something jumping out in front of us to spook the horse.  How great is that?  I cannot tell you how many times that deer have jumped out in front of us while riding.  It’s kind of fun when I’m riding, but not when I’m taking a beginner on a trail ride, it’s scary for them.

I have now included rhythm beads into my training and lesson program.  They are a permanent piece of equipment and they are worth their weight in gold.  Christmas is coming, get yourself a set, get a set for a friend, or leave a not so subtle hint with your significant other to stop by rhythmbeads.com to get you some!

Betty will hook you up with some beautiful jewelry for your horse.  She’s really lovely and will even make your set with custom colors if you so desire.

What are you waiting for, get on over to rhythmbeads.com and check them out!

I found out about rhythm beads about 2 years ago, and the next day, I went out and made a set for each of my horses, and for christmas, all the horses at the barn got a set. It’s amazing how much of a help they are with teaching lessons(with collection and extension especially!)

And all of the silly geldings prance around, as if saying,” look how pretty I am!” goofy boys…

And if you have a problem with them falling down your horses neck, just attach an alligator clip(every craft store has them in the bead section, they look like roach clips :P ) and clip them to the mane.

In your pictures I always thought the beads were pretty, but I didn’t know they served a purpose. I think I may have to either buy or make some and try it out. I ride English, I wonder what the others will think…

They are beautiful, but wow do they work wonders. Betty says they use them on the rescue horses too, and it really helps to get them to relax. I bet if you use them they will catch on like they did at my barn and now everyone wants a set.
