Thankful For Horses

Happy Thanksgiving All!  I know what I’m thankful for, besides my beautiful family and somehow surviving this recession I’m thankful for horses.  Can you imagine life without them?  I can’t!

.

One of my students Kenley who is Dundee’s owner (Cristino’s favorite horse) is so sweet.  She makes Dundee this “Horsey Salad” as she calls it.  I had to take a picture of it last night.  I wanted to eat it, it looked so good.

Horsey Salad

Here’s Kenley’s recipe:

  • Some nice Orchard Grass Hay, that’s the lettuce.
  • Add a little Sweet Feed, that’s the protein.
  • 6 Little horse treats, those are the croutons lol.
  • A cut up apple.
  • A cut up carrot.

I’m sure your horse won’t mind if you don’t slice the fruit and veg, but Kenley likes to go the extra mile for Dundee.  You could even add some dressing to it by pouring in some corn oil.  Corn oil makes horse’s have the best hair coats.  It’s one of my favorite tricks.

.

Enjoy your Thanksgiving and try not to eat too much!  Who am I kidding?  EAT and Enjoy!!!
