A New Addition To Our Equine Herd
Tuesday, July 7th, 2009
Yesterday Fredi and I went to pick up our new 12 year old horse Redford. He is a beautiful Appendix Quarter Horse. I guess there was some miscommunication on my part because his owners were not home. Hopefully I get it straightened out and we bring him home by Wednesday. Redford has been a bit of a pasture ornament for the last four years so he is desperately in need of training. But, the lovely people who have had him are just wonderful animal lovers and he has been taken care of exceptionally well. I do like to retrain horse’s who have been sitting in a pasture and give them a job. His personality is very sweet, and he seems to have a good head on his shoulders.

Refuse Fear When Horseback Riding
Thursday, June 18th, 2009
The best way to make your horse prideful and dangerous is to be afraid of him. Horses know what we are feeling, and when they sense our fear they become nervous. Pride in a horse can end up being dangerous and difficult to fix unless you fix it right away. If your horse is scaring you, put him in training. Perhaps if you are afraid of your horse, he isn’t the right horse for you.

I’m sure all of you horse owners have a friend or relative who you will be giving a ride on your horse this summer.
